The Social Change and Transgressive Studies Project is committed to developing and supporting research projects that examine the impact of criminalization, penalization and systemic inequalities on the most marginalized members of society. Using local, national and international case studies, the broad overlapping effects of the structural violence of the contemporary world is interrogated through a variety of critical theoretical lenses and methodological approaches. Bringing together faculty and students from diverse disciplines in order to facilitate an intellectual space through robust research and discussion, SCTS hopes to pose both the questions and the praxis needed to build connections of solidarity and mount strategies of resistance.
